Homecoming Advert
The Making of the DGS Homecoming Advert
Stage 1
Each part was filmed using a green screen background.
 
Stage 2
The videos were exported from the camera to our production computer where it was converted to MPEG4.
 
Stage 3
We now Croma Key the video's which allows us to remove the green screen background and add in the background pictures.
 
Stage 4
We now edit the whole show adding in the intro and credits as well as transition effects.
 
Stage 5
We exported the finished homecoming advert ready to be played.

Pupils from the school's very own TV-station - launched in January with the help of Scottish-rockers Snow Patrol - produced their own version of the excellent Homecoming advertisement.

Pupils/staff replaced celebrities, such as Sean Connery and Lulu, who appeared in the original.
Dougie MacLean, writer of Caledonia, gave the pupils the go-ahead to use the piece in the broadcast, which also incorporated stunning images of Dunoon and a warm invitation to homecomers to visit Dunoon.
