Dunoon Grammar School has a very long and distinguished history, gaining its royal charter in 1641

In these many years of growth, the hallmarks of the school have been high standards of academic and personal development.

Dunoon Grammar School is a co-educational non-denominational comprehensive school covering all stages from S1 to S6 with a roll of 1030.

In August 2007 Dunoon Grammar School opened for the new school year in a new building. The ground upon which the old building formerly stood has now been flattened and is currently being turned into all weather astro turf pitches which are due to open after the summer holidays.

All the facilities of the building are available for community purposes and letting can be arranged through the Area Community Education Officer.
